Inverter not turning on

Another inverter problem is battery not getting charged after being used or after connection. Some of the possible reasons for this could be a dead battery and in this case, the battery needs to be replaced. Other causes for this could be burnt or faulty rectifiers, melted or broken fuses, and loose battery connection.
In these cases, you may need to contact a professional electrician near you for help or if you are knowledgeable in electrical and electronics you can open the inverter and check the rectifier, fuses and check the battery terminals for corrosion which could cause the battery connection to be loose.
Shortened backup time
Shortened backup time is another problem, which an inverter can encounter. Too much power consumption could be the cause in this case, in such a case; you need to remove the extra load (used appliances). When the battery is not properly charged, this problem could still crop up. In addition, the backup time may become shortened if the battery has lost electrolyte. In this case, distilled water needs to be top-up in the battery regularly. Note that the water level must be maintained between the maximum and minimum water limits.
Power inverter working only in inverter mode
If this problem occurs, either the input is not connected properly or the fuse must have melted. Inspect the power cable and replace the fuse respectively for the above-given reasons for a power inverter functioning just in the inverter mode. However, if the input protector is working fine, then it needs to be reset.
An input protector is a protector circuit that saves the inverter in case of high voltage conditions. Other causes for this common inverter problem may include low input and high input etc.

Alarm beeping continuously
Sometimes, the might be a continuously beeping of the alarm of the inverter. Which could be irritating to the ears. When this happens, the possible cause could be the inverter is either overload or its cooling fan is stuck. To solve this issue, first try disconnecting the entire extra load in case of overload. If the problem persists. Then you may have to take the inverter to the service center near you or contact a professional for help.
Every inverter has a cooling fan, which needs to function as long as the unit is working. If the cooling fan is not able to run and maintain a temperature cool enough for the safe operation of the inverter, the inverter will automatically shut off or it will make an audible alarm to notify you that the device needs to be turned off.
